On every Royal Caribbean Fresh Kosher Dining sailing, the Solarium Bistro is reserved exclusively as the kosher dining venue. Located in the adults-only Solarium area (Deck 14 or 15, depending on the ship), this bright, airy restaurant becomes the heart of the kosher program for the entire voyage.
Where Is the Solarium Bistro?
The Solarium Bistro sits inside the ship's Solarium — a glass-covered, climate-controlled retreat near the front of the ship. The exact deck varies by vessel: on Quantum-class ships like Odyssey and Anthem of the Seas it's on Deck 14, while on Oasis-class ships like Oasis, Wonder, and Symphony of the Seas it's on Deck 15. The Solarium itself features a retractable roof, whirlpools, and lounge seating, giving the bistro a relaxed, resort-like atmosphere that feels separate from the busier pool deck areas.
Exclusive Kosher Use
During Fresh Kosher Dining sailings, the Solarium Bistro is used exclusively for the kosher program during meal times. No non-kosher food is served in this venue while the program is running. This means you can eat with complete confidence — every dish, every surface, and every utensil in the space is under kosher supervision.
Meal Service
All three daily meals are served buffet-style:
- Breakfast — Start your day with fresh eggs, salads, pastries, cereals, fruits, and hot dishes.
- Lunch — A full spread including salads, grilled items, pasta, sides, and desserts.
- Dinner — The main event: appetizers, soups, multiple entrees (meat and chicken), sides, and an assortment of desserts.
Specific meal times are listed on each sailing page. On Shabbat, special menus feature traditional dishes like challah, gefilte fish, chicken soup, and more.
Kosher Supervision
The entire kitchen and dining operation is under Mashgiach Temidi — constant rabbinical supervision. All meats are Glatt Kosher, and dairy products include both Chalav Yisroel and Chalav Stam options. Rabbi Dovid Weberman or a representing Rabbi oversees the program on each sailing.
The Atmosphere
The Solarium Bistro's glass-enclosed setting means you dine with panoramic ocean views. Morning breakfasts often come with sunrise views, and dinner offers a relaxed setting as the ship sails under the stars. The venue comfortably seats the kosher program guests, and the self-service buffet format means you can eat at your own pace — go back for seconds (or thirds), and let the kids choose what they like.
Tips for Dining at the Solarium Bistro
- Arrive early for dinner on the first night — everyone's excited and the venue fills up quickly.
- Check meal times on your sailing page; they may differ by ship and itinerary.
- Kosher wine (red and white) is available for purchase by the bottle — quantities are limited, so order early.
- Kids eat free (ages 5 and under) and youth pricing applies for ages 6–12.
